Do you know who invented the sport basketball? Well it all starts with James Naismith, a teacher at a YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts, is credited with inventing basketball in 1891. He first used a peach basket and its hoop is made only with wire. The game had it’s first appearance at the Olympics Summer Games in Berlin, Germany in 1936. The player who scored the most at a single game is Wilt Chamberlain who scored 100 points against the Atlanta Hawks.
